Hej!

I made a controller for educational use, ship handling simulations or even radio controlled vessels.

As simple as it is the whole project consists of three groups. 2x tiller, 2x throttle and 1x button panel.

Tiller:

  • 1x Tiller Base
  • 1x Tiller Dome
  • 1x Tiller Handle (print vertically with handle side down on the print bed)
  • 1x Tiller Angles (I printed them with fluorescent filament)
  • 1x PotiLock

Throttle:

  • 1x Throttle Base
  • 2x Throttle Lever
  • 11x Einlage Throttle (I printed them with fluorescent filament)
  • 2x Throttle Stop
  • 2x PotiLock

Button panel:

  • 1x Button Panel

The whole project has been printed on a Ender 3 with PLA+ filament. Hotend temperature at 215°C and bed temperature at 60°C. No supports needed.
The fluorescent filament is normal PLA and deliveres a cool look in dark environment.

If you choose to use it as a controller for ship handling simulations, I did use the following devices:

  • one 10k ohm potentiometer for each lever and dome
  • 5 cheap momentary buttons for the button panel
  • one breadboard
  • one Leonardo board for the processing and recognition as a game controller

There are already holes for the potentiometers in the lever and domes integrated. The PotiLock secures the poti in place and stops the rotation along the movements of the controls.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me and I'd be glad to see some photos of your prints!

Best regards,
Jesper
