The measurements on the STL files are top measurements to base measurements (38.5mm apart) if measuring a square tang. Triangle (or hex) and circle tangs will need to compensate as they will fit more loosely.
Slicer Settings:
I like the look and feel without the base of the handle having fuzzy skin. If you use Prusa Slicer, you can set the paint on skin “Smart fill angle” to 5 degrees to get a good line (see picture). Then fill in the rest as needed.
