This model is designed to be done in a single print on a 255mm or larger printbed. The .step file is included if you would like to make any altercations to the model.

  • All of the walls of the mount are 6mm thick and the bottom of the mount is 8mm thick, all with 3mm fillets to help avoid any cracking on edges.
  • There is 1mm of clearance around the body of the Mac to prevent scratching when installing or deinstalling the Mac from the mount.
  • The circular cutout at the bottom for the Mac's standoff/bottom intake vents is near 0 clearance to prevent any movement in the mount.
  • The back of the model is almost entirely cutout due to all of the ports and exhaust vent.
  • There is a 4mmx6mm “rafter” along the top of the back, this is probably not necessary and could probably be eliminated if you wanted but I wanted to leave in as much support as possible.

I printed using PETG at 100% infill, which was almost certainly overkill but I didn't ever want to risk warping or cracking. At 100% with support trees it was 718.5 grams and took 28.5 hours on my Bambu A1.

I would recommend using PETG, PETG is stronger, more temperature-resistant, and less brittle than PLA+ making it better for structural parts like a rack mount that may bear weight or face stress over time. However, PETG is quite stringy so be prepared to hit it with a light sanding once complete to break off those strung out pock marks.

In my application I was using reducer brackets to install it into a 19" rack. So I have not personally tested the fit in a 10"/11" rack.  However, in version 2 I made all of the screw holes on rack unit standards.
