I've upgraded my 2022 Fidget Toy Contest-winning design with a more modern look and easier, more reliable assembly. It now comes with a built-in keychain hole as standard.

This design philosophy focuses on making it easy to spin without conscious effort, with a satisfying, subtle tactile feedback. It's also designed to be easy to hold with one hand. Therefore, it's not suited for those who prefer a strong clicky feedback.

Print Settings:

  • Material: PLA, PETG
  • Nozzle: 0.4mm
  • Layer height: 0.20mm
  • Supports: no
  • Perimeters: 2

Parts to Print:
One each of the parts 'Wheel', 'InnerFrame',  'Case_M', and ‘Case_F’.

Assembly:

0. Check the printed parts and, if any filament residue or debris remains, trim it off using a knife.

1. Apply a very small amount of PTFE grease or similar to the inside of the 'wheel' part.

2. Put the 'Wheel' onto the ‘Case_M’ part.

3. Put the ‘InnerFrame’ on step 2 ‘Case_M’

4. Align the notches on both cases and snap-on the opposite side of the case.

Notes:

  • This design assumes it will be printed on a Prusa, Bambu, and Voron or another modern, well-calibrated printer.
  • I don't recommend using matte PLA or silk PLA, as they have weak layer adhesion and can break during snap-fit assembly.
  • I've added a wheel stl with 0.1mm tolerance, which should reduce shaft wobble and improve the overall feel. Give it a try if you're confident in your printer's accuracy.
