Worn out boot pads but the boot is totally fine? Don't toss your boots out, print these replacement toe pads!

Boots shown here Alpinestars SMX 6 Vented.

They may well fit other Alpinestars boots but chances are they won't be an exact match. They were designed for my exact boots & not yours!!!

Don't write a bad review because you printed them for a different model/make of boot & they don't fit or match up correctly! Thats just not cool!

They fit my boots PERFECTLY!

Print in soft TPU or TPC or something that will BEND & FLEX!

DO NOT PRINT IN HARD PLASTIC!

The pads are SIDE SPECIFIC! Don't get them mixed up, they fit only one way.

Use side cutters to completely remove old toe pads being careful NOT to damage the boot's outer skin! Cut away parts & gently tease the stitching that holds them on out of the boots. The stitching should be easily removable. Use a small screwdriver or toothpick or something like that.

Next grab a windproof (blue flame) lighter & heat the backside of the new currently flat toe pad & offer it up to the correct boot in the correct orientation. Now form the new pad to the shape of the boot.

While still warm move away from the boot & exaggerate the curve in the print you just made & hold until cool & it forms exactly to the shape of the boot as seen below. The new toe pad should stay in the perfect shape you need.

Now to glue them on!

To attach the new pads to the boot use Shoe Goo or E6000. Or if you're skilled enough use a curved leather needle & stitch the pad on.

Smear the glue on the rear sides of the pads & place them as perfectly as you can over the old stitching marks & following any old crease lines in the boots.

Use small pins to hold the lower edge of the pad against the sole of the boot while the glue dries.

Then apply strips of masking/painters tape to hold down the remaining edges of the pad on the boot. To help stop the pad gliding on the fresh glue while you do this start with attaching the tape to the boot first & then pull it tight over the pad. If you do it the other way round you'll simply pull the pad out of position & you'll make a mess & be sorry you did it that way.

Use a clean cotton cue tip to clean up any squeeze out of glue. Don't want things looking bad now do we!

Wait 24-72hrs as per the directions on the glue for a complete cure & full strength of the bond to be reached!

Happy riding!
