Description

PDF

A modified Smiley that uses more standard worker talon mags instead of nightingale/slim talons.

Hardware changes:

Largely the same, it likely does work fine with a standard hardware kit, but if you are able to, you can make the piece of 17/32" brass for the breech longer at 38mm instead of 33mm, and make the 3mm pins for the ram and bolt 33.5mm instead of 30mm.

The two internal bolt arms that connect the bolt to the ram remain the same as the standard Smiley, if you wish to fabricate metal priming arms for it.

Print changes:

Both halves of the receiver, outer part of bolt, breech housing, breech, bolt guide, large part of the triggerguard, mag catch, mag release bar, ram, and both frameplates.

Print settings:

Should be same as standard Smiley, STLs are currently not rotated into print orientation.

WIP: Alternate handguards/receivers/stocks for better matching aesthetics with the new vertical magazine. Slim version of handguard and receiver is currently in the step file. Alternate mag release catch that sits slightly lower for Koda compatibility planned once I can get measurements.

Thanks to Goop for testing and photos while my printer gets exorcised. Blaster pictured is theirs with the slim receiver and handguard.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Adjusted all the parts around the magwell to fit the straight talon magwell, particularly the ram linkage bars which needed to be shifted around to not hit the mag lips or the sides of the plunger tube.
