My father has been greatly impacted by essential tremors as he has gotten older. Always working with his hands, building cars or models. Models have become difficult in recent years as his tremors have grown worse. I created this in the hopes to alleviate some of his issues, and to our mutual delight it works. I am not a doctor and this is not a treatment; this is only meant to help alleviate some of the symptoms of essential tremors in the hands.
You'll need some additional hardware:
- 1x M4 x 30mm screw
- 1x M4 Nut
- 1x M5 x 40mm screw
- Holds the washers. This is subject to personal preference. If you find a minimum number of washers helps you can use a much smaller M5 Bolt.
- 1x M5 Nut
- 20x 1/4" x 1 1/4" Washers
- Variable number. These act as the counterweights. You should test how many you feel you need for best results.
- 1x set of straps to hold it to your hand.
- I happened to have an old CPAP mask piece that I chopped up and glued for the 4th version.
- I'll be working on creating some sort of digital template that folks can hopefully download and print out and use to create the wrist straps for both versions.
Printed on a really crappy original Ender 3.
- .2mm layer height
- 4mm nozzle
- 5% infill
- No supports
Notes
- The version here is meant to go on your left hand. You can easily flip it to print for the right hand. Only the bottom file should be flipped.
Updates:
- I've added a version with four strap holes. You only need one file marked as bottom.
- Updated the bottom so that it's oriented to print in the easiest way.
