This is an open Beta testing model for a replacement to the stock poop ejector.
The original stock poop ejector has a tendency to bend, or lose alignment which can cause the nozzle to get stuck causing belt skips and breaks at the ceramic heatbreak.
This mod uses a brass roller mechanism instead of sheet steel to prevent bending of the ejector by allowing the nozzle to roll over the ejector even if it is slightly misaligned.
Materials:
- PC-CF filament, (or some other very stiff material) for printing the ejector slide (green in the image)
- Brass tube with a 5mm outside diameter (od) and 3mm inside diameter (id)
- 18.7mm long
- 2.5mm diameter steel rod
- 22mm long
Instructions:
- Print ejector slide on its side for best results.
- If you have the ability and experience I recommend re-melting using the powdered salt and oven method, the weakest points will be at the roller pin arms.
- If not, if you have the bricklayering script I recommend using it.
- Place the brass tube between the two holes for the ejector scraper area
- Heat up the steel rod slightly and carefully insert it through the holes and through the brass tube, the steel rod should not completely melt the holes but make the holes flexible enough to slide it through with some effort.
- replace the stock ejector with the new one.
