Update: Please don’t print this in PETG. It’s too flexible, which makes the “legs” spread apart, and it’s also too soft, so the first layer/edge gets damaged quickly with repeated use. Removing the top panel is simple: just grab any calibration cube, push the rivet upward, and pull it out.
Some rivets, however, are trickier to remove because of their position. That’s where this small tool comes in—it makes the job easy. Place it flat against the rivet, push, and you’re done. For acrylic panels, you can pinch the rivet and tool together with your thumb to prevent slipping or scratching.
This tool is tiny and designed for one-handed use.
Printing is straightforward: place it upright on the build plate and use a 0.10 mm Fast Detail setting. If you want to use your own profile, for best results keep at least the first 2–3 mm with thin layers to reduce friction.
Material recommendation (important): Use PLA (or any stronger/stiffer filament). This tool works best when it stays rigid. A stiff material keeps the legs from spreading and maintains a sharp, durable contact edge for repeated rivet removals. PLA is already stiff enough for the job. Any stiffer material is okay but avoid flexible or “soft” materials (like PETG) because they deform during use and wear faster.
