These swatch cards are designed to clip into a small, unobtrusive slotted holder to keep them secure and organized. They slide in to the slots with a satisfying click, and hold pretty tightly!
The cards themselves are quite simple - they're not a print test, they are designed to show what a filament looks like when it's been tuned well. They include a transparency demo in the hexes along the bottom, which increases thickness by 0.2mm (one layer, for my print settings) for each hexagon from left to right.
Spaces for details include material and colour fields, as well as smaller additional fields for extra info (ex: for “Galaxy” red or “Matte” PLA). There is also a space available on the back to include a catalogue or ID number, if you happen to sort your filament that way.
My preferred print settings are 0.2mm layer height, 3 walls, 3 top and bottom shells, and 15% infill. The models need no supports to print, and the integrated supports in the holder break with a very satisfying snap when a card is inserted for the first time. Included here are several generic cards, as well as the .f3d file so that the fields can be edited to the user's preference.
Enjoy!
