Test your 12V tools with increasing voltage before hooking up an 18V battery! My old hedge trimmer is a non-variable speed trigger switch and the motor runs great on 18V, just be careful. You assume all responsibility for any possible damage and/or injury that may result.

I made the Ryobi battery contacts from a couple of copper ring lugs, made for 6 AWG with a 5/16" stud. You will also need a Makita terminal plate, I bought a bunch on AliExpress. You will also need a few M4 screws and nuts and about a foot of wire.
