I wanted to mount a rail to my Rubbermaid Twin Track that I could use for hanging plastic bin boxes and this is what I came up with. The brackets slide into the Twin Track and hold a piece of 1-3/8" x 1/16" steel slotted flat that the bins can hang from. I have no idea how much weight it can hold, but it seems solid enough for my needs.
A future upgrade might be to put a hole in the front face that a peg or screw could go through to lock the steel bar in place. I have a few other ideas kicking around for mounting other things to the track, but am mostly curious to see what others come up with. Drop a comment or remix it yourself if you have an idea!
PRINT ORIENTATION:
For maximum strength, I'd recommend printing vertically (requires supports) so that the layers are perpendicular to the steel flat. I learned that the hard way after a couple of them broke (i.e. the green ones in the photos - gray ones were printing vertically).
If it doesn't fit flush against the Twin Track, you might need to clean up the gap under the hook. A couple swipes with the Xacto knife did the trick for me.
