Description

This model is the basic model of a snap-on “pop-on” front plate for the Woom bike basket. The basic model consists of a peg for attachment to the bike basket and a 3 mm thick front plate that can be individually designed in the slicer (in my case PrusaSlicer). As the model should not be scaled, I created three models with circular plates of 20 mm, 30 mm and 40 mm as well as a rectangular plate of 20 mm x 40 mm. The front plate can be provided with 2D or 3D motifs as desired in the slicer (some possibilities can be seen in the photos).

Use these files to make your Woom bike truly unique - add your child's name, your favorite animal, a team logo or any other creative sticker design!

How to use the model

  1. Open the desired PopOns_xxmm.stl in PrusaSlicer.
    • Pop on with text:
      1. Right click - Add part - Text
      2. Enter the desired text, position it and set design and text size
      3. Decide (radio buttons operation) whether the text should be protruding (join), recessed (cut) or flat/flush (modifier). (The latter only makes sense in connection with multicolored printing!)
    • Pop on with logo/SmartArt
      1. Right click - Add part - SVG ()
      2. Position the svg and set the appropriate size
      3. Decide (radio buttons operation) whether the logo should be protruding (join), recessed (cut out) or flat/flush (modifier). (The latter only makes sense in connection with multi-colored printing!)
    • Pop on with 3D object
      1. Right click - Add part - Load... (e.g. another stl-file)
      2. Position the 3d object on the top of the pop on and scale it to fit
  2. Optional: Select the text, the logo or the 3d object or the pop on in the settings sidebar on the right, right click and select the corresponding extruder
  3. Optional: Use the multi-material painting to customize the object
  4. Slicing

Assembly

To mount the pop on, insert the tongue of the pop on into the recess on the bike basket and turn it 90° to fix it in place
