I wanted to bag a disc at tournaments that I made, so I started the process of designing a putter that was fairly stable, but could handle some anhyzer/flex. During the design process I realized the disc also floats in water pretty easily. I haven't tested the limits of the floating, but at less than ~155g it floats in Texas ponds during the summer!

I've sold enough discs to cover the fees for getting this disc approved and I decided it's time to see if the PDGA will allow an opensource disc. Come on this adventure with me to see what the PDGA will and won't allow.

!!IMPORTANT!!

You absolutely cannot change the geometry or scaling if you want your disc to be tournament legal. As the rules are laid out now, only discs printed with this .3mf file would be considered ok.

(For now) The disc is PDGA approved

Putters printed in an 85A-90A TPU make good approach discs or putting putters. I really like Siraya Tech's 85A for putting with

Putters printed in a 95A such as Overture HS TPU are easy to print and make a good driving putter.

Flight numbers

This disc is roughly 3/3/0/2 as I print it with a weight of 150g. While you can't change the external geometry you can change the infill, walls, and other slicer settings to make the disc more/less stable. Having a lower infill with thicker walls tends to make the disc closer to the 3/3/0/2. Fewer walls and a denser infill would make the flight closer to 3/4/0/1. The more plastic you put at the far edges of the disc the more overstable the disc becomes. The more evenly the weight is distributed, the more neutral the flight becomes.

If you'd like to edit the disc or start your own approval journey feel free to use the OnShape file here. Remember, if you edit the file, yours will no longer be tournament legal.

Not a putter fan, try my (not-PDGA approved) Junebug
