This model is a bee house designed for mason bees. The main idea behind this project is to create a modular structure that makes it easier to clean the tubes and store larvae. There are three types of tubes with inner diameters of 6mm, 7mm, and 8mm. The ability to easily replace the tubes allows you to control the number of male and female bees in the house—males prefer smaller tubes, while females need larger ones.
The dimensions of the house are 10×10×16 cm (without the roof). It has a 4mm screw mount at the back.
The design was inspired by Kashubian and Prussian houses—I just wanted to make it cozier and add a folk accent.
For the main structure, I highly recommend using ABS or PETG for better durability. For the tubes, I used wood-infused PLA (I hope the bees will like it more!), but I believe standard PLA will work fine as well.
That's it! I hope both you and your bees will enjoy this model!
P.S.: I will be creating more variants of bee houses in the future, so stay tuned!
