I was just playing around with light weight structures for fixture rods. It was an easy step from camera mount to dice box. Simply changing the diameter and adding a lid.
Sometimes your mind is making more of your own ideas then you think of. And in this case it comes out without magnets, glue or other hardware. Just printed parts.
This is a lattice structure dice box in a tube design. I made 3 Versions. V1 and V2 have a closed bottom and one lid (2 different desings) and V3 has two threads to accept a lid on each side. All threads are the same size so you can choose whichever you like the most.
The lid also has a pentagon cut out, so you can use it as a holder for your d20.
The inner diameter of the tube is 28mm, which holds my handmade resin dice which are about 15-20% larger, compared to regular sized dice. The length is made to hold one rpg set plus one extra d20, so 8 dice in total. Regular dice might even fit a few more.
The spell scroll:
You can also use this as a prop for a spell scroll, write the spell down on paper and add the dice of the spell. So you could for example, hand out a spell scroll of fireball. The paper will hide the 8d6 inside, but with identifying the scroll, your players can open it and get the description and the right amount of dice.
Print settings:
Regular 0.2mm settings are fine. If you want a bit more stability make it 3 walls. No supports. V3 might need a brim for better adhesion.
There is a bit of tolerance on the threads, if the threads don't work, just reprint the lid with negative xy compensation to raise the gap size.
Disclaimer: Some of the dice in the pictures are my own creation, if you're interested in that, check out my Instagram profile and contact me there. Same for print on demand. I don't have a shop and do commissions and print on demand as my time allows.
