Description

PDF

This is a holder tray for Nice!Nano v2 boards in Dactyl Manuform cases generated by  @rianadons's dactyl manuform generator  . It features a solid mount for the board with just enough space to fit dupont connectors. It also has a mounting spot for a common 6mm tactile button to serve as a reset button.

The holder is designed around v2 of the Nice!Nano, but should also fit v1.
Please note that the middle pins (P1.01, P1.02 and P1.07) are blocked from the back by the holders base.

Printing

  • Print the holder on its side just like it would be positioned in the keyboard.
  • Use a mirrored instance for the second half of the keyboard
  • Tree supports are required

Assembly

  • Complete any soldering before inserting components into the holder
  • Insert the board into the holder
  • Insert the tactile switch, the sides with the legs should be oriented towards the board and the opening of the switch bracket. Be careful to not damage the retaining clip.
  • Insert the button body from the front, with the base part oriented toward the tactile switch
  • Insert the retaining ring from the front, this should be an interference fit. The ring should be flush with the outside of the holder, do not insert it as deep as possible, since that might block the switches movement. The button positioning might require some careful adjustment or very light sanding on the button body, to avoid binding.
