My fridge had an internal leak which was filling the insulation area with water.  Eventually that water was finding ways out of the sheetmetal at the top edges of the fridge.  The root cause of the issue was that the ice maker line froze, so the pressure buildup was causing the leak.

I needed to drain the water out of the insulation and ensure if future water got in I wasn't repeating the same issue.  So I drilled three small 1/8" (3mm) holes in the sheet metal.  Over the holes I positioned this water catcher.  Any drips that find their way to this catcher get routed to a tube that drains into the evaporator tray!

Print Settings:

I recommend having 7 perimeters.  This way the part will be solid with no infill/hollow areas which might not be as water tight.

I used PLA with 0.4 nozzle and 0.2mm layer height.

Instructions:

Print this print standing on edge with the narrow end up.

The drain hole in the catcher needs to be drilled out. I again used my 18" (3mm) drill bit to clear out the hole.  Go slow because it is delicate!

The catcher is designed to accept ¼" ID vinyl tubing.  You can get this from any hardware store.  Secure the tubing with a small zip tie which you can push through the zip tie channel.

I glued this to my fridge using a tube of RTV silicone.  It was temporarily held in place with tape as the RTV cures.  Allow that to cure 24hours for full strength.

When the RTV is ready, direct the other end of the tube into the evaporator pan located in underneath your fridge (some times it is visible from the front if you remove the grill on the bottom front of your fridge).
