I have used these winders from vertical antennas: 10m/15m/17m/20m, EFHW, Random wires (W3EDP) and a 10.9 Inverted L vertical with radials.
The larger winder version includes an optional BNC connector mount, allowing you to build a direct vertical antenna system with minimal parts. Just connect your coax, unwind your elements - no additional feedpoint or enclosure needed.
