This is a tatting shuttle that uses small crochet hooks for the pick and Class 66 bobbins for the thread. I decoupaged the shuttles with napkins, tissue paper, etc. and on some I added bling. I used UV resin to finish them but you can use anything you want.
You will need to cut the tip of a 0.5 mm steel crochet hook for the pick. I used size 8/32 nylon bolt and nut. I started with one longer than needed and cut to size with the nut on to prevent damaging the threads. Refer to the assembly video on YouTube for the way I assembled mine.
I added a new version of the spacer/bearing that goes inside the bobbin. It works off of friction rather than tightening the screw. Seems to work better of some of my shuttles.
