This simplified yet detailed 3D-printable model of the iconic Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (Washington, D.C.) was designed by me using SolidWorks, aiming for ease of printing, visual accuracy, and educational value.
I prepared this design in time for Passover 2025 — a season of renewal, reflection, and shared memory — as a personal tribute to the place that deeply inspired me.
This version is also designed to hold a soft LED light within (such as this one), allowing it to glow from within as a symbol of inner light, spirit, and presence. It was made to be made!

This place holds deep sentimental value for me. Visiting the Basilica in the heart of D.C. was a meaningful and transformative experience — one that helped me grow in spirit and perspective. To me, this structure is more than just a building; it feels alive. A masterpiece of its time, it radiates a presence that invites reflection, peace, and inspiration.
I created this model as a way to honor that experience and share it with others. I’ve included the original SolidWorks source files to encourage learning, editing, and creative collaboration. Whether you're an architecture enthusiast, student, hobbyist, or simply someone drawn to beautiful spaces, I hope this model invites you to explore, adapt, and be inspired.
I also plan to continue evolving this design and will be uploading new iterations in the near future, featuring different configurations and improvements based on community feedback and continued inspiration.
Feel free to print it as a decorative piece, an educational model, or a thoughtful object for meditation, memory, and architectural appreciation.
