Simple Ball Bearing Turntable
This is a quick and dirty design for a simple, 8 inch, ball bearing turntable.
I needed to spray paint several intricate objects and needed a way to rotate them while painting. I made a very quick and simple design using a single 608ZZ ball bearing (8 X 22 X 7 mm). Anything 8" in diameter isn't exactly a quick print but anyway...
This worked perfectly for the intended purpose. There's nothing fancy about it but it was surprisingly rigid, even for relatively heavy objects as long as they were placed with their center of gravity close to the center of the table.
The bearings are incredibly cheap on line. You have to buy them in quantity but less than $6 for ten of them didn't exactly seem prohibitive.
