Molecular surface representation of the bovine mitochondrial ATP synthase state 1b PDBID 5ARE. The chains were grouped and printed so that the main structural components are visible: F0 in green; F1 in blue; axle in red and stator in yellow. Each component is provided as a separate stl file. A .py session file usable in Chimera is also provided to help the assembly. The model was created to help to teach Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the undergrad level. Great for teaching structural biology and for visualizing molecular movement. Details on the structure and implications are available on PDB101: https://pdb101.rcsb.org/motm/72
Segmentation Software: PrusaSlicer
3D Modeling/CAD Software: Chimera
Printer Technology/Material: Polylactic Acid (PLA)
Printer Make/Model : Creality Ender 5 Pro
Print Units : mm
Scale At Given Print Units : 100x
Pre- and Postprocessing Instructions
Printed at 0.2 resolution with 2 wall lines and 5% infill. Extensive supports are required and are difficult to remove for F1. In the case of F0, axle, and stator, all the peptide chaines become loose after printing and required gluing.
