This is a super low profile case for the Redox keyboard. My goal for this was to be as thin as possible, but as heavy as possible, so I have printed both the plate and the case with 100% infill.

Requires exactly:

  • No underglow LED
  • No per key LED
  • PCB is populated only by hot swap and diodes

This is because for rigidity and weight, the case tries to take up as much space between the components as possible.

Assembly:

  1. Print the plate. You definitely want 100% infill here for rigidity.
  2. Print case at 100% infill if you want the most possible “heft” (about 83g). If you want to use less infill, use at least 3 walls. Enable supports on plate.
  3. Insert 4x M2 3.5x2.5mm heat inserts into the case (its important that these are not taller than 2.5mm)
  4. Slide the lip of the controller opening under the controller, it should tilt into place leaving no gap between the plate and the case.
  5. Screw the plate into the plate using 4x M2 6mm screws, M2 8mm will fit barely.
  6. Use 4-6 rubber feet, preferably some that are at least 2-3mm tall so that the USB and TRRS cable doesn't rub into the desk when plugged in. You can have thicker rubber feet on the back or “inside” of the keyboards, which will give it a slight tilt. You'll have to play around with the positioning to avoid wobble.

  • Uses the plate from Redox Neo Case, thanks to Pastisas for making it CC0-1.0 license so I can upload the plates here for easier printing. :-)
