Remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6061737 by R163

This version has it's design modified to be printed in TPU.
Because of it's flexibility, the 3 "arms" are longer than the original version, to remain fully blocked in place inside the Eotech.

A previous version was printed in ABS.. I'm more confident with one printed in TPU in case of bb shot.

This version has a 3mm groove where you can slide 3mm “plexiglass” (or whatever stronger)) protection.
I'm using this one https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005007406871437.html (square version / 2,49€ shipping inc. as reference)
You can trash the ugly yellow one, or use it to test the cutting with your dremel.
It has 2 protectives films (1 on each side) so you can manipulate / cut it to size without damaging the glass.
It is big enough so it should be possible to cut 2 eotech protective glass out of 1 sheet.
Will see how it perform against bbs… 🤞

Tried another one previously (another design, another brand), only 2mm thick.. and it did not go well..
It cracked after some shot.. Did not changed it the same day.. and another shot killed it later.. and the Eotech replica at the same time.
So now is the 3mm version with another brand..

As it does not require any glue, the 3mm protection could be replaced very easily, even in the field.

You can print the original template (in PLA) to cut the protective glass to size.

  • Flat the object into your slicer. (Face facing the BBs flat on the printer bed as shown into the slicer picture attached)
  • I used skirt only (as TPU will not separate easily with Brim) and it stick very fine.
  • NO support needed
  • TPU (that's the whole purpose of this shape with extended (flexible) “arms”)
  • 4 walls (as we are supposed to be hitted by BBs
  • 0.2mm
  • 15% (but with 4walls it's almost 100% everywhere anyway so…)
  • Nozzle 220°C (or your TPU preference)
  • Bed 50°C(or your TPU preference)
  • Seams; make them out of the part exposed to view
  • Printed in 1 hour 21 min
  • 10gr of TPU (3.5 meters) used

Painted with tan & black spray paint (as seen on picture)

The original design (thank's to the author) fit 99% fine with my HollyWarrior HWO-S1 repro

I re attach the original glass template from R163 so you have it too here (this part has no change from the original)

Universal Eotech Protector

Differences of the remix compared to the original

  • Slot to slide protective glass (no glue needed)
  • 3mm slot
  • Longer arms adapted for TPU prints (which may better handle BBs impact)
