Blood on the Clocktower Character Library

I got tired of having to open up multiple script boxes just to fish out the character tokens I needed for a custom script game. So I designed a “compact” character library where each character gets their own little box, including their reminder tokens!

You can flip through them sort of like a rolodex and quickly grab what you need. It’s made prepping for custom games way faster! And still works for the original scripts too.

The insides of the tray are slightly angled and have notches to indicate the front side. This way the tokens are less likely to slide forward. (I even used a 0.3 layer height from the build plate to the top of this sloped part, to make the staggered layers effect a bit more pronounced).

NOTES

• The file names use to following format: X_Y, where X is the number of character tokens, and Y is the number of reminder tokens. Use the table below to as an indicator of how many you need of each.
   
• I no longer use the included grimoire stand, opting for a music stand instead. So I leave that out of the box. I also keep the script handouts stored separately, but you can store 1 of the official scripts, the town square, the manual, script manuals and fabled/travelers manual without any noticeable lid lift.
   
• I went back and forth on whether to make this a shop model, but in the end I decided to release it for free — mostly because the Blood on the Clocktower community has already created so many amazing free resources. • I use BGExpansions' Upgrade kit for BotC so the trays leave just enough room to store those as well. I made my own solution to store the other tokens, you can find it here: Blood on the Clocktower Token/Accessory Box. The other purple circular containers you can see in some of the pictures are my Token Capsules for Blood on the Clocktower, which I use to obscure the difference between real and homemade tokens.

Printing instructions

I just used the default Prusaslicer 0.20 (Speed or Structural) and printed them in PLA. I recommend turning on Monotonic Lines for the bottom layer as well, because you will be printing the lids facedown.

For the trays, use supports on the build plate (I think I used tree supports, its been a while).

Tolerance issues

People mentioned they were having trouble with the lids snapping on. I printed these on both my MK4 and my older MK3 and had no issues, so I think its a tolerance issue somehow. I suggest you print one box and one lid and see if it fits. If it doesn't, print a couple of lids ranging from 100.1% to 101% scale (X-Y dimensions only. I heard people having success with both 100.3% and 100.9%, so see what works for you.
