I got a Tesla B4 reel to reel tape recorder as a gift, but it was missing the 9cm/s button. This is my first own design with Autodesk Fusion. As I pried off the 4cm/s button to measure it with a caliper, it broke in half sadly. Overall I was able to recreate something that's very close to the original buttons. The number could be about 1-2mm smaller and 1mm thinner, but I wasn't sure how well my printer would deal with the engraving, so left it a little bit bigger. Used a white acrylic pen to color the recessed area for better visibility of the numbers. This is not something for everybody, but if you are in the same situation I was I hope I can help you out with this design.
You may need a thing jeweler's screwdriver to clean out the 1mm gap where the tong of the speed selector mechanism slides in for easy insert. I used PETG filament for my print, and it worked good. The original plastic is more brittle and not too flexible, maybe bakelite. It is from the 60's after all.
Some printer settings that may help for a better output:
- Turn off supports
- Set layer height to 0.1mm
- Turn on precise wall and precise Z height
