🧲 GeoMagnet – 3D Printed Travel Map Magnet Frame

Turn your travel memories into touchable stories.

GeoMagnet is a minimalist 3D-printable frame designed to hold custom terrain slices from places you've visited. Whether it's an ancient city, a hiking trail, or your favorite viewpoint — you can turn it into a tactile magnet souvenir using STL terrain maps.

This project started as a father-son ritual: every week we visit a new historic place, export the terrain from map2stl.com, and 3D print it. The printed terrain goes into this specially designed magnet frame and ends up on our fridge — a growing wall of memories!

🔧 Recommended Settings for Map STL Files

To ensure visual and dimensional consistency across all magnets, we use the following settings on map2stl.com or ma2stl.netlify.app:

Box Scale (Sampling Rate): 2

Model Scale: 2.00

Vertical Scale Factor: 2.0

Base Height: 3 mm

Water Drop: 0 mm

Only the coordinates change for each location — the rest remains consistent.
