I really love Tea Bag Dispenser - Faster Stackable Interlocking by pwnate, but it won't work for Celestial Seasonings teas, which aren't individually packaged. In my case, I not only needed to leave space for CS boxes, but I also needed to work around a projection from the back wall of the cabinet (thanks, old gas pipe) that meant I couldn't do a simple shelf around the outside.

This was the solution I ultimately arrived at: a simple riser with a cantilevered shelf, which would lift a dispenser high enough that you could put a Celestial Seasonings box underneath.

Design notes:

  • This shelf is designed to hold tea dispensers with tea bags inside. Putting heavier things on top may cause it to collapse.
    • The most likely point of failure is the base, which I purposely kept thin, so that there would be less of a jump from the floor of the cabinet shelf.
    • Making the base and/or support column thicker will give you a stronger shelf. However, doing so will also reduce the available space. Keep this in mind when making any alterations.
  • The tolerance is the same as the top of the dispenser. However, if you have trouble removing the supports, it may result in a snugger fit, where the dispenser will “click” into place rather than simply resting on top. If a  significant amount of support material remains, the riser may not dock with the dispenser at all.

Printing notes:

  • For maximum strength, print the riser on its side. This ensures that the layer lines are perpendicular to the direction of stress.
  • I personally found that 5% infill provides enough support, but more infill will create a stronger riser.
  • Because the riser's shelf has a lip to interlock with the bottom of the dispenser, you'll need to enable supports, which is done for you in the 3MF files. Organic supports set to “Support on build plate only” will work best (fastest print + least filament + least contact with the print).
  • You can fit up to four (4) of these risers on a Mini/+ bed by rotating them and placing them manually. There is a 3MF file with this already done for you.
