A lot of entry-level heat set press tools use a piece of 2040 extrusion to connect the base to the moving arm of the heat insert iron.  This is valuable space that can be used to store things, mainly the heat insert tips themselves, instead of them taking up valuable space in whatever storage system you are using.  I feel the best location for a tool's accessories is immediately available from the tool itself, so why bother digging in a drawer or something equally bothersome?

I have upgraded from the heat inserts that came with my heat press machine.  This model was developed around the CNC Kitchen 900M/T18 Standard Heat Insert tip set found here and is by no means universal:  https://cnckitchen.store/products/soldering-tips-set-adapter-compatible-with-900m-t18-e-g-hakko

The pictured make is PETG, but I can't imagine that PLA or similar would be an issue.  To attach this to the 2040 extrusion on the heat press, I used the following hardware:

- M5x10mm Button Head Socket Cap Screw (8mm may work but untested)
- M5 T Nut (a regular M5 nut may work in a pinch if you already have this in your kit)

Just print, slide it onto the track, lock it down, and load it up.  Then pat yourself on the back and take the rest of the day off because you probably have the fanciest Heat Insert Press tool on your street….and let's face it, probably the envy of all your neighbors.  Okay, maybe not that far, but that's what I'm going with.
