K1/K1C CFS Purge Chute

So i like everybody else got tired of scooping up the filament poop at the bottom of my K1C. i legit learned to 3d model just to make this… no im serious. As fun as the project was im very happy that i now have to dump a bucket instead of grabbing handful by handful of filament purge. I included a Purge Bucket that i designed as well but feel free to use your own 

This mod does require some cutting and filing of the rear filament spool holder slot.

Items Required:

4x6mm M3 Insert

14mm M3 Screw

Strip of Double Sided 3M Tape 

Directions:

Cut the extruding plastic piece inside your K1 Machine that sticks on the back side of the Spool holder ( I used pliers to cut most of it off then used a handheld dremel to shave it down smoother)

Heat your soldering iron to 400°F and insert the threaded insert into the hole provided in the model.

Apply 3M double-sided tape from the top of the exit hole all the way up to the top opening.

Remove the Z rod and the Z motor protective cover screw.

Align the exit hole with the spool holder opening you created, making sure the insert lines up with the screw hole.

Apply even pressure to the back side to ensure the double-sided tape adheres properly.

Secure everything in place using the 14mm M3 screw.
