Keyboard Keychain/Tag
Included some keyboard models will add a couple in the future. Follow customize section below to create your own.
Printing / Finishing
- To embed a logo or text use a first layer height of 0.32mm so only one filament change is needed
- Print (recommend vertical orientation rather than flat if printing single color)
- Wet Sand with 220, 320, 600 & 1500 grit
- To fill in the embedded keys used acrylic paint with a syringe (3 layers let dry between)
- Let paint dry paint
- Sand again to clean up paint
- Rinse off with water & dry
- Polish with wax to bring back some of the luster lost from sanding
Alternative: Could not quite get what I was looking for with ABS vapor smoothing but included the files and images because it was looking very neat
Customize with your layout
- Use keyboard layout editor to design your layout
- Download SVG (Experimental)
- Remove all the rectangles from the SVG except the ones that contain inner class
- Made a helper page to do this: http://davek184.github.io/keyboardkeychain
- Import into 3d editor, TinkerCAD or Slicer (resized to 5.5% of original)
- For the keys used either 0.75 embedded or raised
- For the logo used a height of 0.32mm
- Make a rectangle around the keycaps (3mm depth, height / width of keycaps +3mm)
