Walmart sells a cheap 4-tier shoe rack under their “Mainstays” brand that has shelves just too short to use as filament storage. With these riser pegs, you can extend each shelf to the right height to store both loose spools and refill boxes perfectly.

You'll need 12 per rack that you want to modify. Print them on the flat side with a bit of support on the barrel. No support is needed for the inner barrel. Don't print them on either end, as you need the layer lines to be parallel to the rods for strength. I recommend 3 walls and gyroid infill at about 15%. The peg end of the model has a small draft on it, and you'll need to use some force to fully seat them in the plastic platforms of the rack, but once they're in they're very sturdy. The rods themselves slide into the wells pretty easily, but are held firm. Once assembled the entire rack is solid, even when totally full of filament.
I printed mine in PLA and they work great, but PETG or ABS is probably fine as well.
