38mm Corrugated Gun Belt

Warning: The current version of this belt broke after just a day and a half of use. The limiting factor appears to be tensile strength. To address, I'm considering polycarbonate filament and/or even thicker extrusions.

Use the models that Cisco provides for his original Caterpillar Belt. Just print them at a different scale, with substantially different slicer settings, as outlined below. The result is a taller and stiffer belt which I hope will be suitable for supporting a holster. Belt height is 38mm (1½"), a sturdy size widely supported by holsters which still fits the belt loops of most pants.

Setup for Belt

This setup is suitable for nozzles from 0.35 to 0.85 mm.

  • Material: PETG
  • Spiral vase mode
  • Solid bottom layers: 0
  • External perimeter extrusion width: 0.96mm
  • XY size compensation: 0.36mm (to make my wider extrusions possible)
  • Layer height: 0.52mm or 80% of nozzle size, whichever is less
  • Scale:
    • X & Y axes: 98%
    • Z axis: 38mm

Setup for Buckle

This setup is suitable for nozzles from 0.25 to 1.0 mm.

  • Material: PETG
  • Perimeters: 2
  • Infill before perimeters
  • Layer height: 0.1mm
  • Combine infill every: 3 layers
  • Top fill pattern: Monotonic
  • Infill: 100%
  • Elephant-foot compensation: 0.2mm
  • Ironing: 12% flow, 0.3mm spacing
  • Scale: 126%
  • Rotation: 90 degrees clockwise (rear of buckle at rear of bed)
  • Seam position: Rear
