Bambu Spool Holder for IKEA SKADIS

This is a remix of the Filament Spool Holder for IKEA SKADIS by alecs.form. I loved the original clean design, but was saddened when I found out the holders I printed were maybe 5mm too narrow to fit my Bambu spools. This project was recreated from scratch in Fusion to account for the wider spools while faithfully maintaining the original design aesthetic.

The design is wide enough to allow for vacuum-sealed spools.

My Print settings:

• 0.4mm nozzle
• 0.2mm layer height
• Supports required (for peg hooks)
• Main Mounts
  • 4 wall loops
  • 4 Top / Bottom Shell Layers
  • 25% gyroid infill
• Hex Core
  • 2 wall loops
  • 0 Top / Bottom Shell layers
  • 15% Honeycomb infill
  • 25% Infill/Wall overlap (adjust this if the slicer bridges the hex on the edges)
• One pair of half-mounts (for one spool) is up to 128g of PLA, so:
  • 1kg: 7 pairs of half-mounts
  • 2kg: 15 pairs of half-mounts
  • 3kg: 23 pairs of half-mounts
  • 4kg: 31 pairs of half-mounts

Directions

On a 30x22 SKADIS Pegboard, you can fit up to 27 spools. Be warned though, this is ~30kg (66lbs) of sheer force on the only 2 mounting screws (there's 4 thumb screws, but only 2 of those screw into the mount).

To fit 27 spools, you need the following assortment of prints

• Top & Bottom Row (contents of one row, so print these ×2) 
  • ×1 of Type 1 (with Punchout)
  • ×4 of Type 1
  • ×3 of Type 2
  • ×1 of Type 2 (with Punchout)
• Middle Row
  • ×5 of Type 1
  • ×4 of Type 2

To get the hex pattern, you must assemble the “Hex Core” file with any of the other pieces, and then adjust the Hex Core parts to match my print settings above. The trick is to print only infill & walls, with no top/bottom later.
