Sewing Machine Horizontal Thread Post

• Update: Hexagonal Prism is now updated to two new different models. There are different brands of sewing machines with different diameters of vertical sewing thread pins. For example some of my sewing machines have following diameter of thread pins: 

Singer 431G: ø 6 mm

Singer 101-2:  ø 4,5 mm

Elna 2110: ø 5 mm

Singer Heavy Duty: ø 5,5 mm for spare pin (already with installed horisontal thread post) 

Choose the Hexagonal prism according to your machine. I put two different models: one for DIA 4-5 mm and another for DIA 5-6 mm.

Old wooden thread spools was not cross-wounded as today's modern spools. This is  converter for vertical thread spool pins to horizontal one. The cross-wound sewing thread spools are not designed to spin, but need simply to be horizontally installed to get thread came off. Smooth sewing thread delivery without spinning. 

This design is mainly for vertical sewing machine thread pins, diameter between 4,4 and 5,1 mm. 

On my new Singer Heavy Duty machine, there is already a horizontal thread post installed. 

I used two components glue (epoxy) and glued all details together, except two washers, which are intended to be placed or removed from the converted horizontal pin.
