An influential ship, with a storied history and record, the USS Tripoli is a great little desktop model.
The model aims to provide a sufficient level of detail to be realistic and interesting as a desktop model, but not so saturated as to make the print cluttered. I attempted to replicate prominent features of the ship to make a convincing model.
The model comes in at just over 155 mm in length and can be scaled up without issue. It was designed to be printed with a 0.4mm nozzle. Due to the construction of catwalks, sponsons and deck-edge elevators, the print does require some supports for various overhangs. Regarding scale, I wouldn't go down from the existing scale, as some of the details and walls will become too small. Although I do think you could scale it down to be printed with an SLA resin printer provided the resolution fit the scaling.
I printed the model on my Prusa MINI in MH Build PLA Silver and it turned out great. Enjoy!
