Now with a rotary potentiometer/encoder. Extension is about 55mm.

Materials:

• rotary potentiometer or rotary encoder.
• pipe: 190x6x1mm
• single ball of a ball bearing: about 2.5mm in diameter
• spring: 15x6mm or more (I use 35x14x1mm)
• optional: 260mm M5 threaded rod and M5 bolt 

When combined with one another models of this collection mimic the functionalities of the instrument panels found in most aircraft (helicopter, fighter jets and even space ships).
