Ever not hear your dog walk when they urgently need to go POTTY outside?! Here is a sensor that detects your pet!
Required items:
Arduino nano x1
Small breadboard x1 (or not) if you solder your wires together
Ultrasonic sensor
Active buzzer (this is better and louder) or passive buzzer
Dupont wires
USB (micro or C-type) depending on the Arduino Nano
Outlet timer (optional)
Software used:
Arduino IDE, ThinkerCAD
Printing instructions:
PLA, 15% infill, 0.2 mm layer height, no support needed
After printing the models, I would advice to assemble to top part first as follows:
(1) add the sensor to the sensor case
(2) add the nutlong
(3) screw the rod (adjust to respective height)
(4) add the nut2 (use as a stopper when adding it to the bottom part).
For the bottom part, you need to do the wiring and arduino, which can be found here: Arduino Nano - Ultrasonic Sensor - Piezo Buzzer | Arduino Nano Tutorial ( I changed the sound to a short and loud constant sound, and you can also change the detection distance).
Lastly, you can combine the top and bottom, and connect the neccessary wires. Plug your sensor to an outlet (I have mine on a smart outlet timer for convience) and watch it go to work!
My dog and I love this sensor, to the point where he would stand in front of the sensor to let us know he needs to go, RIGHT NOW! Enjoy!
