Banana Pi R3 Mini 5G Router Case

I'm satisfied with the official Banana Pi R3 mini CNC case for the most part, except that it only has 3 antenna mount holes for the 5G module, while most 5G modules have 4 antenna connectors.

So, I created a dummy board STEP file from the official PCB placement DXF file and designed my own case.You can reference the step file to design your own case but remember the design tolerances.

Attach a heatsink (2-3mm height) to the main chip, as PLA, PETG, and ABS are not good heat conductors.

Be very careful when installing the screws to prevent the screw posts from pressing the antenna feedlines onto the PCB.

Use a 3007 fan with a 3-wire PWM control (black/red/yellow).

Use M3x3 and M2x3 heat inserts for the lid.

It’s better to use button head Allen screws or similar on the bottom to lift the case slightly off the desktop for improved cooling.

Use REAL 5G antennas. This will significantly improve the 5G signal and speed, compared to using low-quality antennas or those not designed for 5G frequencies.
