I use my Play Light Bars to throw diffuse light across my ceiling from atop my living room wall unit. But because of the height of them, and the angle they sit at, I get the bright light right in my eyes when I'm not sitting down. I want to maximize the ceiling area flooded with light, but still limit it's angle so it doesn't hit me in the eyes. So this attachable shade is specifically tailored so that when the Play Light Bar sits at it's natural resting angle, due to it's angular base, the thrown light is restricted from any angle below horizontal, from the light's perspective.

The shade slips easily onto the light bar, and is held in place by a snug fit, with no fasteners or adhesive required. Put the light bar's power cable through the shade from the top first, then the shade will slide up the light bar's body from the bottom and wedge into place.

I've made 5 of these from various brands of black PLA to maximize the shading, but you could use colourful or even translucent filaments to change the vibe while still preventing direct light in your eyes.
