Made a stylish and airflow oriented HEPA filter case with an 140mm Fan.
Perfect if u just need a thing that works and u can repair broken parts (in this case only the fan?) with ease.
Case has a thread in the top & case part for holding together.
Filter will be hold down with a pressfit between case & fanadapter part.
It is possible to mount an adruino or something inside the top part for controlling remotely, or use a 7v adapter on the fan, but i just use a silent fan and let it blast at 12v.
Material -
I used PETG black casue i like the look and also PETG slides am bit better on a thread.
Also i put a drop of lubriucant on the thread for easier assembly.
My settings -
Layerhight - 0,3mm
Layerwidth - 0,5mm (everywhere)
Walls - 2
Infill - 15%
Generator - Classic
Printtime for me - (The threads are rly slowing down)
Case - ~ 15h
Top - ~ 5h
FanAdapter - ~ 1h
Dimensions -
Height - ~ 19cm
Diameter - ~ 21cm
i could get away with a smaller width and 10% infill to save some filament but i didnt care here.
Parts u need / i used
Last words -
Yes, this case is a bit on the heavy side, but i didnt want it to fly away while the fan having a blast. Also this case will survive most of impacts or like if it falls of a shelf.
I also think about creating a horizontal mount for it so it would be possible to have it on top of a shelf and let the fan facing horizontal. (Or mounting it somewhere to a wall)
Let me know if some of you would like to see one.
Will print some more of em and gift it to my mother and parants in-law
PS -
On the pic where u can see the fan i didnt put the FanAdapter part, so u can see the “pull air throu the filter” orientation of the fan. Just imagine there is the FanAdapter on it :D
