I had no idea that individuals that were low vision or blind would play word board games…Humbling moment. I decided to create a tile set featuring 3D printable braille that would have more uses than a board game. These tiles work with standard word gane trays and boards.

Alternatively, I believe educators can use these items to teach braille, family members can print them as gifts to help someone communicate, community centers, hospitals, police stations or firehouses, who knows…we live in a world of creativity.

The dimensions of the Dot layout adhere to Braille Authority of North America (see drawing) trying to ensure a universal understanding.  I optimized (DFM) the geometry for the FDM process with multicolor/multibody printing. I printed with a .4 nozzle as a reference. That being said these can be printed a number of ways successfully and still be meaningful. If there is any feedback or anything I may have missed please reach out so I can clean it up. The goal is for these to be accessible to anyone. Thank you for visiting.
