Description

PDF

Includes F3D-file for further modification and for taking measurements for reference.

The background for this is that the mainboard for my cr-10 smart nuked itself, and it's getting a klipper-upgrade, therefore I won't be using the touchscreen or tool-drawer.

This model is intended to replace the front-panel, and allowing to quickly prototype new parts for it, such as moving the power-switch to the front and so on.

BOM

  • 8 M5 screws
  • 4 M3x6 screws, preferably machine or pan-headed
  • 4 M3x6x5 heated inserts (I use inserts meant for injection-molding)

This model is compatible to be printable on machines that run 225x225-beds, as the frame-parts are roughly 200x41x19mm and should fit most printers.

Printing and assembling

Step 1:

Print the files, I use PLA with 5% gyriod-infill, with variable layerheight between 0.12 and 0.32mm, 0.4mm nozzle.

Step 2:

Install the heated inserts in the position marked in this image

Then glue the two frame pieces together, making sure the align properly.

Step 3:

Install grills (or design your own and install) by pushing it in from the back, the tabs should lock the grill into place.

Install the badge in the center of the frame, and secure using 4 M3-bolts

Step 4:

Remove the old front-panel, and install the new one its place.

Feedback? Made your own grill or badge?

I would love to hear your feedback on this, and if you create your own grill or badge, please tag them with #cr10smartpanel.

I have included my original-file, please don't look at the mess and enjoy!
