I put a MSI Geforce 4080 Super Ventus 3x in a Cooler Master NR200. Tight fit! In this case the GPU sits horizontally and the card is very long and unsupported at the front. Because I will need to move this PC occasionally I made this bracket that fastens the GPU via three very conveniently-located M3 threaded holes in a bracket attached to its back plate. This way it is securely attached at the back and front of the card and should not flex when being moved. I don't know if other GPUs have this also but I don't think I will need a new one for a while…

The larger piece has brass heat-set inserts inserted from the back so that 15mm M3 bolts will pull them through into the piece. Circular ridges locate this piece inside the case. The smaller plate sits on the front of the case. 8mm M3 bolts attach the plate to the GPU.

revision: I also have a dual-140mm-fan radiator in this case and the wider GPU support (first version published) interfered with its fit. This narrower version doesn't have that problem.

*Ignore following rant about computer case design if you like…

The Cooler Master NR200 was an incredibly good case. With a SFX power supply and a mini-ITX motherboard it can also fit a radiator 315mm long with two 140mm fans and the biggest GPUs available, and keep everything cool in a small and well-proportioned package. It was easy to service with all the case panels just clipping off. It didn't have a big stupid ugly logo on the front, although I would have preferred the Cooler Master shield to be an optional sticker...

Aside from all that most PC cases are ugly as hell, and case manufacturers seem to have no idea why that is. Why were Jony Ive's designs for Apple so incredible? Because he was an admirer of Dieter Rams, and he stopped designing when it was finished! Why can't someone tell all these manufacturers that adding holes and RGB and logos and hooks and handles and every other piece of crap they can imagine does not make it better, it makes it more expensive and worse! If I wanted a PC that looked like crap I could stick all the Corsair and MSI and Gigabyte and ASUS stickers all over it…

Cooler Master, you were stupid to discontinue the NR200! Instead you had to screw it up with a “Max” version that can't do air cooling well and can't do a GPU without a long PCIe cable and vertical mounting. Maybe it's cynical to think the reason that happened was that too many NR200s sold, and once the price was down at around $85 there was no way to raise it without “improvements”. I hope someone brings back a similar model and eats your lunch.
