This is an Internal Chassis replacement for the wide "pizza-box" style Apple Macintosh computers from the 90s that included an internal CD-ROM drive. Specifically, this part is for the Centris 610, Centris 660AV, Quadra 610, Quadra 660AV, Power Macintosh 6100, Workgroup Server 6150, Performa 6110CD, Performa 6112CD, Performa 6115CD, Performa 6116CD, Performa 6117CD, and Performa 6118CD Macintosh computers.
The Internal Chassis holds this model Mac's hard disk, CD-ROM, floppy drive, power LED, floppy drive ribbon cable, and internal speaker. Like many Macs from the 90s, their plastics are becoming exceptionally brittle. My Performa 6116CD's Internal Chassis was so brittle, that while taking it apart, pieces kept easily popping off. I could not find an OEM replacement part and I didn't want to buy one that would also have the same issues. I really wanted to have a proper substitute and took it upon myself to produce this. This is my first 3D model I've made, and if anyone wants to improve upon it, they're more than welcome to! I could easily see it using way less plastic which would then require less support material while printing.
I've divided the Internal Chassis into 3 separate files since most people can't print something almost 400mm wide (but if you can, I've included that too). I've included 3mm screw holes so that the three sections can be combined easily.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
