A replacement frame for the Hario Skerton Plus coffee grinder with improved shaft design for a more uniform grind. As this is a direct replacement of the original frame, no other parts are required. The center hole has a thread to allow the M8 thread of the shaft to be inserted while keeping the shaft play at minimum.

Note that the coffee beans do touch the 3D-printed part. The frame acts as a hopper for the beans, but when the beans reach the burrs, they are no longer in contact with the 3D-printed part. After the coffee is ground, it does not come in contact with the 3D-printed part.

Printing:

  • Material: PETG
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Orientation: Upside down
  • Supports: Support only the beginning of the center hole (see last picture)
  • Print the test piece first and select the appropriate model to ensure a good fit with the inner burr shaft

Assembly instructions:

  1. Remove the inner burr.
  2. Remove the 4 screws and ring holding the outer burr in place.
  3. Put the outer burr to the new frame, attach the ring and loosely tighten the 4 screws.
  4. Insert the inner burr to the new frame by threading it trough the center hole.
  5. Securely tighten the inner burr using the grind setting nut so that it centers the loosely fastened outer burr.
  6. Tighten the screws to lock the outer burr in place.
  7. Loosen the inner burr to your desired grind setting.
