Introducing the Charles Dowding (no dig) inspired seedling tray. Big thank you to Michal for the original model. You can check out Charles dowding on youtube for great gardening tips and know how.

I have scaled down the original model to 70% and made a large hole at the bottom so that you can push out your seedlings once they are ready to be planted. I have printed in generic PETG and its come out very strong.

As mentioned before I ran my Mk4 at 250% speed after the first layer was finished and it printed in around 4 hours. It should be 0% infill as its only 2 layers thick. Oh and dont forget the glue stick on your bed unless you have a PETG print sheet.

Our local gardening shops didnt stock a decent seedling tray as they always break so i wanted one made out of PETG. Also I couldnt find a tray with circular modules that would print fast. The reason I wanted circular modules is that you can use a dibber to push a hole in the soil then you just drop one seedling into the hole. Much easier then squares. There are also some good dibbers already on printables.

Hope this is helpful and glad to give back as Ive found so many useful models from great people who take the time to design and upload models.

Cheers and Peace

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

I have reduced the size of the original to 70% scale and included a negative volume at the bottom for a large hole so that the seedling can be pushed out when ready for planting. its not perfectly aligned but thats ok its got character. Can be printed at 250% on a mk4 giving a print time of around 4.5 hours. Also made for 20 but it can be scaled to fill a print bed.
