Prism X

This is a remix of my Kumiki cube. It is basically the same as the original, but with the sides cut off along the X-axis. This makes it a prism with eight sides.

The original Kumiki cube can be cut along each axis. Here is a picture of the cube next to the three possible prisms.

3D printing

MK4, PLA, no supports, no Input Shaper, 0.05mm.

I use a Prusa MK4 with a 0.4 nozzle to print these at 0.05mm resolution. I noticed that adding 0.05mm to a gap may make a piece fall out, and removing 0.05 may make it really hard to assemble the cube/prism.

This is a 20 hour print.

Overhang!!

There is one overhang on the biggest piece when printing without supports. You may need to scrape this a teeny weeny little bit to make the center pieces fit.

Look for example to this piece from the original cube. The filament comes a bit too far (because gravity). This may prevent some pieces from fitting.

Version 2.1

I made a lot of these to improve the pieces fitting together, and to have a smooth surface on all sides.

Assembly

Here is a video on how to assemble this prism.

Though it is not that hard, so try it yourself for the most fun!
