I found the Pavone floor light but wasn’t ready to pay $448. Then I suddenly remembered that I own 3D printers—so I decided to design my own variant of the lamp.

For the legs, I used 28mm wardrobe rails, and for the lightbulb, I used an E14 lamp socket. If you want to use different components, I’ve included F3D and STEP files so you can modify the design. If there’s interest, I can add a version for ½-inch or ¾-inch pipes instead of wardrobe rails, as these should be more widely available. The cable is routed through the top piece into one of the legs and then out the bottom of the base.

The base features a cavity for extra weight—simply break the sacrificial layer in one of the leg holes and fill the base with sand. The holes for the legs have crush ribs for a tight fit. If they’re too loose, you can add glue, but I recommend printing the test piece first.

Feel free to design a new shade! I’m not completely happy with my version, even after several iterations. My Fusion 360 skills aren’t good enough to create a more organic shape that I like and that can still be printed in vase mode.
